Interpreting and translating

Working for us

If you are interested in becoming an on-site interpreter with ISTNT, you can submit an electronic expression of interest form. We will contact you in the near future to organise a convenient time for an interview and fluency assessment.

NAATI accreditation

We prefer to use interpreters and translators with accreditation obtained from the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).

If you would like to become an accredited interpreter and/or translator you will need to contact the National Office in Canberra:

Language Fluency Assessment

Before becoming an interpreter you must undergo a language fluency assessment. This assessment is conducted in-house on application.

The aim of the fluency assessment is to find out if the applicant is fluent in English and the other language/s; whether language used is current; and whether there is correct grammatical usage.

Translators are not assessed in this manner, but registration is dependent on the applicants having NAATI accreditation.
