Cross–Cultural Awareness Workshops

Cross-Cultural Awareness workshops give participants an insight into settlement issues faced by migrants and refugees in Australian culture and society.

They highlight the differing experience and expectation of migrants and refugees, the meaning of culture, common difficulties and the effect of cultural and language diversity.

The workshops also explain the impact cultural diversity has on service delivery and access to services, and provides practical strategies or dealing with cultural behaviours and linguistic difficulties.

For further information view the Cross-Cultural Awareness workshop program.

Working with Interpreters Workshops

If you regularly use on interpreter you should consider attending a Working with Interpreters workshop. The workshop provides practical ways for dealing with non-English speaking clients through working with interpreters and how to establish good communication.

The workshop also provides hints on how to work interpreters, available services, roles and responsibilities, and how to access the skills of an interpreter. For further information view the Working with Interpreters workshop program.
